Procedure

Parmalito is a vegan, Non-GMO, powdered parmesan cheese flavoring.  Imparting the same sharp, nutty, and salty flavors of paremsan cheese, Parmalito is perfect for kosher-pareve or vegan bakeries.  Try this delicious savory Parmesan and Chives Scone recipe.

  1. Incorporate flour, salt, baking powder, sugar, Parmalito, and chives on 1st speed.
  2. Incorporate shortening on slow speed until it is pea size.
  3. Incorporate soy/nut milk on slow speed until the dough begins to come together.
  4. Divide dough into wedges at desired scale weight.
  5. Refrigerate dough until cold and firm.
  6. Brush dough with soy/nut milk
  7. Bake for 20 minutes at 420°F

Tips: For a Dairy recipe substitute cold butter for margarine and heavy cream for the soy/nut milk.
